Getting to Girona
By air
There are two main airports serving the city: Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) and Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN).From Girona-Costa Brava Airport
By busGirona airport is only 12 km – or a short bus ride – from the city centre. Buses operated by Sagalés run roughly once an hour and stop at the depot next to the main train station in the heart of the city. A single ticket costs €2.75. To find more info and view the timetable, click here.
From Barcelona-El Prat Airport
Barcelona is only 100 km or so south of Girona, a distance easily covered by bus or by train.By bus
Bus operator Sagalés runs services from both terminals at Barcelona airport, although departures are much less frequent than from Girona airport. A single ticket costs €19. The timetables are available here (choose Aeroport del Prat de Llobregat for Barcelona airport).
By train
Take the R2 commuter train from Terminal 2 to Barcelona-Sants station. If you land in Terminal 1, hop on the free shuttle bus to Terminal 2: it leaves from Level 0 Arrivals in Terminal 1 every 4 to 20 minutes, depending on the time of day. Once at Terminal 2, follow the signs to the train station.
From Sants, you can catch a direct train to Girona. AVANT and AVE fast trains take 38 minutes (book online); other services are cheaper and take about an hour and a half (book online or buy a ticket on the day). See here to search train timetables.

By high-speed train
Girona railway station, located in the heart of the city, is a stop on the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona AVE line (timetable and prices available here).
